Thank you for stopping by and your interest in learning a bit more about me and MAR Integrative Wellness coaching.
I hope I will not disappoint you if I tell you that I am not an Instagram model nor an influencer but more so a mom to 2 kiddos with a full-time corporate job and with a huge passion for wellness and helping others embrace it holistically, so they can not only lose weight (from fat and not muscle), gain health, and feel great, but also understand that in order to do that, they do not need to exercise obsessively or diet, but in fact oftentimes do the opposite and UNDIET. ‘Undieting’ is about empowerment and becoming stronger on the inside out and healthier in both body and mind. Weight loss is a natural side effect of undieting. Dieting, on the other hand, in addition to the known yo-yo effect when people struggle to lose weight only to gain it back, leads to unhealthy obsessive behaviors, addictions as well as unhealthy preoccupations and relationships people have with food, exercise and ultimately with oneself. While dieting is about counting calories, macros or exercising a lot, undieting is more so about learning how to be kind to yourself and listening to your body and respecting its wants and needs. It is about a healthy mindset and self-care. It is not about beating your body down with exercise, or about restrictions and deprivations but more so about looking at your wellness journey from a place of abundance, nourishment and nurturing oneself. It is opposite what the current diet culture we are living in tells us to do! I was a part of this culture myself. I thought I needed to count calories and macros as well as exercise 10 hours a week to be fit and well! I trained people to do the same and what in fact I was taught to do while studying for fitness training certifications. No pain, no gain! Calories in and out! I did that for years until I started realizing that there is so much more to wellness and that in fact, I was not able to help people find their sustainable wellness like that. They needed more than just exercise prescription and a diet plan. I started digging in the science, literature and even into myself. A decade later, I was ready to help and founded Mar Integrative Wellness. MAR stands for Mindset Action Results. Mindset is what sets people up for success or failure. My personal transformation also started with the mindset. Even though I do not have a big story to tell you and how I have lost for example 100 pounds, I have completely transformed the way I go about my wellness that started in the midst of preparing myself for a bikini competition to challenge myself for my 35th birthday. I then learned I was to become a mom at what was considered an advanced age. This event prompted me to focus from me onto my then unborn child, who is now 10. Little did I know that by doing what was best for my child would also benefit me! I stopped counting calories and macros but started counting nutrients instead! While I used to be afraid of fat, I knew it was so good for the development of my daughter’s brain, so I started eating things I used to be so afraid of. In addition to focusing on nutrients, I also focused on the quality of foods and became aware of toxins around us. This has led me to co-found Dermattude, ltd mindful skincare for mindful women. I will be the first one to tell you that every woman should embrace aging first and foremost from the inside and then outside. My daughter was born healthy, and I decided to repeat the same thing when I soon became pregnant with my son. To my surprise, once again I had plenty of energy and zero cravings. When my son was born, with then two little ones, my life became even busier. Having 2 very young children with no help around was not easy. I could no longer even dream of going to the gym, or for even an occasional run, or bike ride. Instead of doing nothing, I decided to work with what I had and literally started squeezing in 1- to 5-minute-long workouts into my busy days. I was waiting till I would start piling on pounds and getting out of shape, but to my surprise, I never have! My undieting experience, exercising less and eating more, has prompted me to question the status quo and popular thinking and even popular science of calories in and out and even the recommended exercise guidelines. After experimenting with myself first, I started digging deep into the science behind working out smart not long as well as food as medicine and how come I was able to eat so much without gaining any weight. This topic fascinated me and uprooted my thinking. From fitness training, and peddling anti-aging skincare, I turned into integrative health & wellness coaching and focusing on the inside more than on the outside. As a side effect of my newly found wellness and spending 10 times less time on exercise than a decade ago, I started looking better, feeling better, aging better and even becoming healthier than before. Moreover, what I am now sharing with you in my Undiet with MAR Integrative Wellness program has also helped me embrace being a mom to my two little ones, full time corporate jobs where I became the very top performer, as well as very challenging personal situations head on with confidence, positive attitude and newly found energy instead of giving up and giving in. I know we all have struggles, but it is even more reason why I want to invite you on this journey together. You can't pour from an empty cup. Self-care is not selfish. It is in fact your best empowering tool that will not only help you lose weight and keep it off for good while gaining health, instead of losing it, which is what often happens when going on fad diets or popular magic bullets. Additionally, you will find energy within you never thought you had and become more productive! You will be able to strengthen yourself from the inside outside, which will help you invite healthy relationships into your life and healthy boundaries.
